Taylor Swift, in full Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13th, 1989 West Reading Pennsylvania U.S.) American pop and country musician and singer whose stories of heartbreak in the early years achieved wide fame in the early 20th century. Swift was a fan of music at an early age and she quickly progressed from roles in children's theatre to her first appearance before hundreds of people. Swift was 11 years old when she performed The Star-Spangled Banner at a Philadelphia 76ers Basketball game. The following year she wrote her first songs and took up guitar. Drawing inspiration from musicians from the country genre like Shania Twain and the Dixie Chicks (now the Chicks) Swift crafted original songs that were a reflection of her own experiences of growing up in a world that was dominated by tweens. At the age of 13, Swift's parents decided to sell their property in Pennsylvania and moved into Hendersonville Tennessee so she could dedicate more time pursuing country music labels within the vicinity of Nashville.
